Woodcock shooting walked at ‘Knapdale' West Coast of Scotland in stunning scenery/Walked up woodcock shooting at its best.

We have access to a beautiful coastal estate suitable for 3 guns hunting over pointers. If conditions are right large numbers of woodcock will be lifted and in these conditions 10-20 are possible per day depending on shots ability to kill, the hunt is also about enjoying the stunning scenery and the hunting of truly wild birds we start at 0930am, have a short break for lunch and finish around 3.30pm 4.00pm as its getting dark there is not guaranteed bag and no bag limit if numbers permit and even on a dismal day you can expect to take home a brace of birds at worst. Best Time of the season November-January. No charge for dogs.

What you need on the day gun and ammo 5,6,7,8, s, as you will encounter duck and pheasant as well as snipe. Good boots suitable clothing for varied conditions own transport and a packed lunch. Although we don't usually arrange accommodation we have put a package together with the Kilberry Inn where you can stay over night and enjoy some of the best hospitality and food I've ever experienced myself in such a remote area.

Situated in the historic Kilmartin glen 3 miles north of Lochgilphead on the A816 to Oban, the Inn provides ensuite & self catering accommodation at reasonable rates and is an ideal base for visitors to the area.

We have few rules and operate in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, if you have any special needs please ask, we will do our best to help.

We have 4 rooms, 2 double en suite, 1 twin en suite and 1 twin with private bathroom, The bedrooms are Non -Smoking, please respect this
We serve food every day from opening until 9pm

Location

It is situated halfway around the B8024 - the scenic route between Lochgilphead and Tarbert with fabulous beaches and breathtaking views over the Inner Hebrides the shoot area is around Lochgilphead where you will meet your guide. Glasgow airport is the nearest flights in for this area; allow 2.30 hours drive to Lochgilphead.

Cost

3 nights DBB and packed lunch plus 2 days shooting guides and pointers £850 per gun

If staying at the horseshoe inn cost is £800 DBB packed lunch etc. and is in Lochgilphead.

Collection and return to Glasgow airport £250 per group.
